On Mass Shooting in Fort Hood, Texas:

A SILENT JIHAD ATTACKS the LOOSEN SECURITY in a MILITARY BASE

SB
12 People dead and 31 wounded after and army officer opened fire Thursday, with two handguns, appeared to be the worst mass shooting at U.S. Military Base.

Suspected gunman Army Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan was killed and two more other soldiers were apprehended.

U.S. Defense officials haven't disclosed yet the motives of the shooting spree.

Hasan, 39 years of age, was a mental health professional in the Army- a psychiatrist., whose religion was unknown to the force until the incident happened. Investigators are now trying to determine if "Hasan" was his original birth name or if he may have changed and just converted to Islam at some point during his career.

He is single with no children and dreams of a wife who is more religious than him. He was born in Arlington, Virginia yet his parents were originally from Jordan, with Palestinian descent..

Hasan was working at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, at Washington DC for 6 years prior getting detailed to Texas last July of this year 2009

He graduated from Virginia Tech University, a high profiled member of the ROTC and earned his Bachelor's in Biochemistry in 1997. He did his internship at Walter Reed, followed by residency and fellowship then transferred to Texas.

The shooting started around 1:30 p.m., where all the casualties took place at the base's Soldier Readiness Center. Most of the victims were about to get deployed and some were returning and were then undergoing a pre-requisite medical screening.

Some sources are saying that Hasan was about to get deployed to Iraq and the shooting could be his way of retaliating to his new assignment.

Some are also saying that Hasan and his parents were born Islam and that they never changed religion at all, contrary to most reports that the suspect just switched his religious belief during his late years.

Furthermore, that the shooting could be Hasan's form of Jihad against the United States.

The violence didn't only stun the entire Army force but, the White House as well.

U.S. President Barack Obama told the Associated Press that Fort Hood Shooting was a "horrific outburst of violence."

"It is difficult enough to lose" soldiers overseas, but it is "horrifying that they should lose their lives at an Army base in the U.S.," Pres. Obama said.
