On My Mind

If you will allow me to express myself then you will learn about my world.

If you let me take your hand then I will show you how my plans to treat a woman will unfurl.

They say that the best gifts come from within; the thoughts that come from the heart.

If this is true, then we already have had an ironic start.

I don't know how to be perfect but I can learn to make you smile.

And I like to hear about your day, so please, sit and stay for a while.

If the definition of a friend had a picture, would I be staring at you?

If I recognize your worth, would I be wrong to call you beautiful?

My thoughts on paper are a result of our interaction; these are my expressions.

I'm impressed in how you carry yourself; I guess these are my confessions.

When you look past the physical you meet the person that some will often try to hide.

I'm not much of a magician, so look for the truth in my eyes.

We all have a story, the reason why we are who we are.

All I ask is that you look past cloudy memories of the past to see a star.

If I ever told you that I love your dimple, let me tell you again for the first time.

And if there is a special place for me in your life, give me a sign.

If life was as smooth as your skin, the world would have no worries.

And I love your patience; very necessary when my ankle will forbid me to hurry.

Just the other day we spoke of a beach with sand soft enough to fall into sleep.

Desires and wants like these are not far from reach.

So you ask, what is on my mind besides the imagination that keeps me moving.

And I answer, to enjoy each day because with each passing moment is time that we are losing.

So maybe we will tackle life requesting a table for two.

Because the reason why I'm here is none other than you.
