On Relief Goods for Ondoy Victims:

THIEVES BACK OFF!

SB
Corruption is indeed very common for any third world country. And, Philippine is not an exemption.

Although, the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had been very vocal of its crusade against graft and corruption in the government; since she took her oath of office from January 20, 2001 (after Edsa 2) to June 30, 2004 (after 2004 National election), all the way to this present date; corruption still exists!

Despite the fact that we've seen how mean the punishment could be and that it didn't only involved prosecution but, embarrassment and humiliation that even families of the culprits would suffer (e.g impeachment against former President Joseph Estrada), It's still very much up!

It's just that now corrupt government employees and officials are more careful on doing their crime; knowing that the Chief Executive won't have second thoughts on kicking their butts out of the government payroll but, also in putting them behind bars.

But, PGMA is no god. And sad to say, security cameras in the Palace can't go farther than all of MalacaƱan premises.

There are some who does corruption to survive and raise their families. There are some who just love doing it; because they just love to have more monies. And, there are tons, tons of them who are doing it because it's their nature already, without the slightest guilt and for no reason. I guess, they're just too fond of robbing Juan dela Cruz.

But, regardless as to where they fall on those categories mentioned, certainly, it's inappropriate; it's not fair; it's illegal and it's a crime!

Yet, there are still lots of them out there; on the loose; monkeys dressed in "Barong Tagalog" (an embroidered formal garment of the Philippines) and "on duty" in most government offices, or agencies; whose main agendas are to steal and cheat.

It's just that now, the monkeys are smarter. They've established precautions for themselves and at the same time often cover one another; for their own personal benefits as well.

Beware! These ruthless creatures, don't recognize seasons. They don't recognize status in life. They don't care about other's misfortunes and they certainly don't care about any disasters and their outcome.

But, I wish for once, they would have the human heart. Especially, at this point that we are in bad shape.

Just so they know, Ondoy didn't just take the lives of 256 Filipino people, neither; it didn't just damage almost P5.B worth of infrastructures and agriculture, but, it also displaced 340,000 families and close to 2 million individuals.

These families and individuals' houses are swept away. Their valuables and all that they've worked for, are all gone.

Cars vehicles are down and so with all appliances and furniture, even their clothes are too muddy to wash and wear.

They've hardly eaten and there's not enough potable water tp drink. And, there are still some of them, who couldn't even go back to their houses yet, because flood remains high. And, there are many, who are complete homeless, simply running out for reasons to live. They hardly even know where to begin.

All of these were the reasons why donations poured from all corners of the world and pledges still keep on coming. The world knows how tough and rough are we are going through, not withstanding the worldwide effect of recession, we are certainly lucky enough to get the support and generosity of various international communities and allies.

And, I bet t they have the same wish as mine, same prayer as mine.

For thieves to back off, spare the victims! Touch not; steal not any and all donations of monies and relief goods! And, may it all reach every victim's home, as well as all relief centers throughout the country.
