On Sexual Purity

When I was a lonely high school teenager, it seemed that every movie or TV show depicted guys my age as sex crazed maniacs with long hair, fast cars and an insatiable desire to have sex with every girl at the age of consent. That wasn't a true characterization, because at the time, I didn't have a car, fast or otherwise. What I did have was a case of raging hormones that, if magically converted to gasoline, would propel a car twice around the earth before the fuel gauge dropped to three fourths of a tank. In the air. Like a rocket. Yeah, I wanted women bad and not in a good way. In other words, I wanted sex with any good looking female, without having earned it the old fashioned way: as in marriage.

Quit laughing. You're the same way right now, whether you're a teenage boy or girl. Guys get sweaty and can't think when they talk to a pretty girl, because of brain drain (all the blood rushes to regions below).

The girls get all weak kneed and throbbing in their you know wheres and everyone gets all, shall we say, hot and bothered? You're in dangerous territory now aren't you? Let me give you some free advice that would have saved me, yes me, the guy, the man, the stud, a lot of heartache. Save it for marriage.

Guys and gals are wired for sex. It is the thing that haunts our every teen waking hour. We dream about sex all day and through long lonely nights. But here's the kicker, sex won't make you make you happy. Not by itself. You need love to be complete. Take my word for it, sex without love is meaningless. Yeah, sounds like what your mom and dad, preacher, teacher, etc. have been telling your for years. As uncool as it sounds, it is the truth. Think with your brain and not your thing for a minute.

Did you grow up with both mom and dad at home? You're lucky, because a lot of parents split these days. Now sex isn't the only reason, but if they grew up having sex with everyone, it makes doing the old one man, one woman routine that much harder. How can you be faithful to your husband or wife if you keep flashing back to former sex partners? You can't compete with a phantom lover that comes to mind every time your spouse isn't happy. Sex was meant to be the glue that bonds men and women together in marriage. Sure, it is old fashioned, like ice cream and cake, but it is best that way.

There are a lot of creeps out there, male and female, just looking to use you for fun, then toss you in the trash heap the next morning. Believe me, I've been there. Because I remember what it is like to be used and yes, to use others, I want to warn you to save yourself a lot of needless pain and heartache. Go to your marriage bed pure and you'll never regret it, guy or gal. Remember this work in progress:
