On the Verge of Self-Implication

Brandon Elliott
I lay in my bed, watching TV. Home Improvement reminds me of the family I don't have.

I close my eyes, but my thoughts won't let me rest. Dressed for success, but the tie is a bit too long.

These pills can't fully apprehend the tension, so I turn to my lover and seek happiness in her touch.

Indeed, her love heals my wounds, momentarily, before the lightning strikes again.

Not even my alarm clock keeps the time right, for tonight, I am no longer a slave to society.
