On the Way to Mr. Rushmore

I Bumped into Crazy Horse

Augustine St. Claire

I wasn't' there for Crazy Horse ride,

Or the legend that pursued,

I heard about his Indian pride,

A tales which effects on me and you,

Our history books refuse to celebrate,

The first Americans cultural presence,

Often given to debate,

Their Importance of residence,

Crazy Horse takes his fight to the battle field,

To defend what he calls,

His tribes inherit right of will,

His lands he said with pride,

Where his people lived,

And died,

Even though it an sordid fact,

Some cowardliness soldier stabbed,

Crazy Horse in the back,

So on this July 4, as we celebrate our nation's course,

I visited Mount Rushmore,

But remember the legend of Crazy Horse.
