Once I dreamed of a perfect life
A strong bond between a husband and wife
Once I hoped I'd see the way
Continue my plight and never stray
Once I wished that I would die
To stop the hurt and never again cry
Now I pray with each passing day
That my path be clear, to find my way.

Post a CommentGreat poem; straight from the heart. I'm sorry that you have had such a loss, but I see how loss helps us to write. Do you? I, too, wrote a poem entitled "I," if you want to check it out at OurEcho.com. In fact, given some of your writings on this site, you might enjoy reading and writing on that site. It isn't a money-making site; just a community of writers making posts on everything from daily problems to serial fiction. A lot of them post poems, so you would like it, I think.
