Once --

Once...

Who will hear?
Who will hear your voice
when darkness settles
thick - the oppressive
grey wet blanket of existence
smothering your being?

Who will see?
Who will see your flame
burning in Night's shadow
no matter how distant,
dark, or faded,
you become?

Who will feel?
Who will feel the silent
thrumming; your soul
symphony resounding
amid a sea
of symphonies?

Who will read?
Who will read the language
of your rage and pain?
Your joy and your love?
Read - understand - know
the words writ by your spirit?

Who will know?
Who will know when you
would talk? Listen?
Know when you would
simply be, have you be -
and in being, be enough?

Do you know?
Do you know who
will hear you?

I knew.
I knew who knew
my ravings without explaining -
who understood them
for plain English spoken,
written.

I
knew
who knew -

once...
