Once was Enough

Have you ever known someone who had it together and tried a drug and got hooked? Did you witness them spiral downwards into a place you would never had imagined them to enter?

She did not think she could get hooked, the first time was just too good.
It made her give up everything even her motherhood.

Once the thing had control it was too hard to escape.
She fought it off the best she could she felt her soul had been raped.

The power that it had, it was too hard to explain.
Her want grew stronger with each hit, her appetite for it she could no longer tame.

To get money for the drug there was nothing that she wouldn't try.
Stealing became second nature everything out of her mouth a lie.

The drug it became a master her to it a slave.
She was violent to her family, she would often rant and rave.

Gone was the shapely figure, nice butt she once had.
Left was ashy skin and bones and lots of clothes that sagged.

She had to hit rock bottom, left alone to rot in jail.
She lost everything sick in a jail cell.

She is no longer doing drugs, yeah she finally quit the scene.
She had to be buried six feet under to see this stuff was mean.

Don't think one hit can not hurt, nor that this wouldn't happen to you.
The world is full of people who've said that, it's full of drug addicts too!
