One of America's Most Wanted Finally Captured

"One of the World's most Notorious child molesters" was arrested Tuesday May 1st, 2007 at a Hong Kong airport. Kenneth John Freeman an avid body builder and compuer expert who once served as a reserve sheriff deputy in Washington State was finally captured after a team of investigators including the U.S. Marshalls, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and many others found him working for an American based company located in Hong Kong.

Freeman is accused of molesting his own daughter and posting images of it online as well as distributing the images in a wide ring of child pornography websites. The images of him raping his daugher have become one the most widely downloaded child pornography in recent years.His daughter came forward to help authorities capture her father and though tormented by memories of the incidents helped in every way she could. She now a teenager and has appeared on television to tell her story. She is now a highly active child abuse advocate.

Freeman who is on the U.S. Marshal's 15 Most Wanted List, Immigrations and Customs Most Wanted List and who appeared on "America's Most Wanted" in December of 2006 was arrested in Richland, Washington in 2005 for investigation of first-degree child rape jumped bail and had been on the run since. Last year, Freeman fled the U.S. in an attempt to avoid the ongoing investigation presented against him. It was believed that Freeman was living in the city of Suzhou, People's Replublic of China.

It is believed that Freeman's appearance, among other clues, on America's Most Wanted is what helped to eventually lead to his arrest. After Freeman's 17-year old daughter came out with her story the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children put her together with a case that they had been working on of child pornography videos with an unidentified girl. Her story with the fact that they believed Freeman and his victim were from the Pacific Northwest. The national publicity Freeman's case received helped them to connect all of the peices and led them to believe his daugher was the girl in the videos.

While there is no extradition treaty formed between China and the United States it is believed that once the Chinese were informed of the detail of the case they were more than willing to help the U.S. with the capture of this man. There is however still a treaty between Hong Kong and the U.S. In April, law enforcement caught wind that Freeman would be traveling to Hong Kong. When he arrived yesterday morning the Chinese government apprhended him. When confronted by the authorities at the airport, Freeman tried to fight them off. Freeman now not only faces charges of rape allegations but is expected to face charges for flight to avoid prosecution and production of child pornography in Washington state as well as those from the federal government. This is part of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Operation Predator, which protects children from pedophiles, international sex tourists, internet child pornographers and human traffickers. If convicted of these charges Freeman faces life in prison.
