As you walk into the main office, various licenses can be seen on the right hand wall. Gary's Automotive is licensed as a Diesel Emission Inspection station, Private Inspection Facility, and Emission Repair facility. The shop also carries a NJ Motor Vehicle Commission License to have a tow truck. However, please note that they can not pick up cars on the Garden State Parkway due to a contract.

On the left hand wall, each mechanic's certificates and qualifications are posted. It is important look for these items regardless of where you choose to bring your car. According to CarJunky, these postings give insights into the professionalism of the repair shop.

Personal Experience

Over the years, I have had most of my repairs and oil changes done at Gary's Automotive. I have seen a variety of vehicle be services there, from an Escalade to my old '89 Nissan Maxima.

Like all automotive repair shop, there are pros and cons. When I cracked the Maxima's muffler, the actual cost of repairs ended up being lower than the quoted price. Alternatively, oil change prices are cheaper if you drive 20 miles away from Cape May Court House.

Tip: From experience, If I bring my car in for an oil change near the middle of the week and around 4:30pm, I can get a turnaround time of under 30 minutes.

Side Note

The owner, Gary Farrow Sr., is mention in the book "Cape May Court House: A Death in the Night" by Lawrence Schiller.
