In a city known for it's rich Italian heritage, a visit to Niagara Falls, NY isn't complete without eating at one of Niagara Falls' best Italian restaurants. Michael's Restaurant is located at 3011 Pine AveNiagara Falls, NY14301. Their phone number is(716) 282-4043. They are open Sunday through Thursday 11 am to 11 pm and Friday and Saturday 11 am to 12 midnight.

Michael's Restaurant is located on Pine Avenue in the heart of Little Italy Niagara. The history of Michael's Restaurant began in 1960 when Michael Capizzi moved from Italy to Niagara Falls in search of the American dream. This tradition continues today with Mr. Capizzi, his son, Mike, and his nephew, Terry, overseeing the daily success of one of the best Italian restaurants in Niagara Falls. They pride themselves in the fact that every dish served is a reflection of family, good friends, and tradition.

Michael's specializes in both Italian and American cuisine. Michael's is quaint, not too big and one of those places where it feels like everyone knows everybody! The décor is simple yet eye pleasing. It is rightfully described as "conveying the charm and warmth of an Italian bistro." Personalized artwork with chefs depicting Michael, Mikey, and Terry (the three owners) hangs in the front of the restaurant. The only problem is that it's so popular and not that big of a place. It is always packed , I know because we eat there at least twice a month though if you have to wait for a table, not to worry you won't have to wait long.

The food at Michael's Restaurant is amazing. It's hard to describe because the menu has an array of wonderful choices. Traditionally Italian so anything Italian on the menu is an excellent choice. The pasta ranges from rigatoni, lasagna, ravioli, gnocchi, linguini, and homemade macaroni with an array of sauces and sides to top it off. Eggplant, chicken and veal parm are all tasty choices. Be warned though that the portions are huge.

The pizza is yummy as well but the calzones, stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella, are what people talk about. They are huge and filling and you can chose whatever topping you want to make it your own. Their salads with rolled mozzarella and house dressing is a favorite too. But, the hidden secret is Michael's "Specials Board". You'll never be disappointed if you eat one of the specials. Soup is also a "must have" at Michael's. The beans and greens is undeniably, possibly the best around. Best bet is to share, and then you can try one of the other homemade soups. My husband's favorite soup is the hamburger soup, very hearty and packed full of veggies and beef. They always have a nice selection of desserts; the only problem is leaving room for dessert.

They also have a nice choice of meals for kids. Your little one will be sure to find something to their liking amongst these choices - Spaghetti, chicken fingers, hamburger, hot dog, grilled cheese or mac and cheese. Plus these choices come in silly, fun names such as "Superman" and "Puppy Dog".

Michaels' prices are fair and the wait staff is very attentive. You can tell that Michael's is a restaurant with tradition and family values at the helm. If you're on the run or just want to take food home, don't fret, just call ahead and they do a great "To Go". Also, if you need a luncheon or party catered, they'll work with you to have a great spread. I had a luncheon for my children's daycare and the daycare teachers are still raving over the wonderful food. The combination of great food and great atmosphere makes Michael's a favorite in our family!
