One Dark Sky
A Good Friday Poem
The sky darkened
as Jesus took his last breath.
Those who loved him wept
while the others
pretended he was just a man...
not the son of God
who had just died
for their sins.
What love there was
upon that cross!
Pain, sorrow, sacrifice
and eternal love
all in the one
called Jesus.
