One Day, One Job Website
The Job Finding Website May Be Redefining They Way Some People Look for Jobs
College graduates tend to have very little, if any experience, in the work field and are graduating from their four year university's with a few $80,000 pieces of paper. As a recent college grad myself, with very little experience outside of summer jobs and temporary work that I would take during spring and winter breaks, I find myself very under qualified for a lot of the jobs I have been tending to apply for in the work experience part of my resume. While my educational background and achievements may sparkle, having years of experience seems to be the trump card for landing a job.
I turned to sites like Monster and Career Builder earlier in the year to start searching for jobs while still an undergrad. Since I graduated I've taken two temporary jobs and just recently landed a full time job for a medical services company. Although it is a very secure and nice starting job, it is not what I went to school for and is not something I can see myself doing ten years down the road. So I've searched all over the Internet for a website that could help me find a job that I want, and I finally came across one: One Day One Job.
One Day One Job does the job searching for you and specifically for entry level college graduates still waiting for that job offer to come in the mail from the hundreds of applications they have sent out. Every day they have a new company that is has entry level job openings, along with all other pertinent information one would need to learn about the company.
It is theoretically a blog that was created by 2006 Cornell graduate Willy Franzen, but it is so much more than just a simple blog. It gives the job seeker more in-depth knowledge, makes concise descriptions, and provides ample job opportunities (1053 entry level employers as of September 30). If you are a recent college graduate still searching for a job, or a future college graduate, or just looking for a change in your career, check out One Day One Job and get started on your job search.
