1. The first of our drinking games is called 1, 2, 3. It is very simple and is played with dice. Everyone participating takes it in turns rolling. The goal is to get (or not) a six on the die. The first person to roll 6 chooses the drink while the next person to roll 6 has to drink the one ordered and the third is responsible for paying!
2. Games from other countries are popular and here is one that began in Iceland. Make it a rule that everyone must drink with their left hand. Continue the night until someone starts to drink with their right hand. Everyone begins to shout, "Buffalo!" until the right handed drinker downs his entire beverage, whatever it is.
3. Century Club is another drinking game that is a lot of fun and is based on time. You need to get a shot glass for each player and have someone sober keeping time (or set your watch to go off every minute). Now, every minute on the minute, you take a shot of beer. This might not seem like much, but you are to do this for a century of minutes, or 100 minutes! Anyone who makes it to the end is a winner!
4. Flip the Cup involves team playing. Set up two teams of however many people on opposite sides of a long table. Each person is given a plastic cup which is placed in front of them with about 2 oz. of beer in it. Starting at one end of the table, the first players chug their beer, then set the cup right side up on the edge of the table so that half of it is hanging off. They must flip the cup successfully until it lands perfectly upside down on the table and the next teammate can go. The first team to finish wins a point and you play as many games as you wish.
5. Icetray Quarters is one of those coin drinking games. You will need quarters or another type of coin and an ice cube tray in order to play. Sit with one player at either end of the tray and each takes turns flipping the coin into one of the ice cube compartments. The left side is the "give" side and if you get the coin in there, the other person has to drink. If you get your coin on the right side, the "take" side, you have to drink. The catch is that the further the coin lands away from where the person tossing is, the more drinks. For example, if you toss the coin and it lands in the compartment #3 on the give side, your opponent has to take 3 shots. This can rapidly get out of control.
Drinking games can be a lot of fun. If you enjoy games and enjoy drinking, pull one of these contests out the next time you are hanging with some friends and have a blast!
