One Glimpse

Canopy of My Heart Series

Communicating is something we women are so good at, we take it for granted. Men sometimes have a problem saying what they really feel. When they do, sometimes it is more mind-blowing than a psychodelic drug. You wonder, how did he hide all that inside himself?

Sometimes we women think we want to know what our men are hiding inside themselves. Sometimes we think we know, but we really, really don't. I recommend developing a trust that cannot be shaken by outward circumstances. And in that rare moment that he really opens up to you - cherish every word.

ONE GLIMPSE
This morning
we sat around in pajamas
and the window you keep minimized
on the depth of the page of your soul
was suddenly opened

You showed me
-you let me peek
-catch a glimpse
At the window of your heart
A panoramic paradox
-a man with an embrace so huge and strong
-bites off more than he can chew
-cares with the intensity of his own body heat
-attracting affirmation addicts like a magnet
-and intimacy as if he had the capability
to save every life

I treasure the moment
-this rare moment
-the glimpse that you
so willingly and helplessly revealed
what you have so stubbornly protected
for so long

As if I could not be trusted
with your heart
It is quite big and complex

Maybe I cannot

A great poem! You are so right. We must cherish that moment of opening up. It's a good idea to have your mind made up to pay attention otherwise we miss it. Thanks Jane :)
