Peter Hurkos and his Background:

Peter Hurkos whose Dutch birth name as Pieter van der Hurk, was one of the World's greatest known Psychics. This was a psychic who could provide real facts at a drop of a hat. He could tell you the color of a ball, or the shape of a drawing or the type of object all of which were in a box without having to ask questions first. His status is legendary and how his ability came about is even more fascinating.

Peter Hurkos (1910-1988) attained his psychic abilities when he was 31 years old after he fell off a ladder. One day he was not psychic, the next he was one of the World's best, and from a fall! Hurkos was called upon by Police to assist in solving crimes by Charles Manson, the Boston Strangler and the Tate-LaBianca murders. What's more, documentary films have been made about his ability and his clients were among the World's elite including President's spanning a time period from Dwight Eisenhower to Ronald Reagan. Peter Hurkos was also part entertainer. That is to say, despite his special ability he was also a performer and television guest actor.

Unlike some contemporary Psychics, Peter Hurkos was not afraid to demonstrate his ability or be tested. Since he had the ability, he claimed, fear of being tested was unnecessary. Nevertheless, in a book entitled 'The Psychic World of Peter Hurkos', the author Norma Lee Browning affirms Hurkos' ability as genuine despite being a skeptic. However, according to www.crimelibrary.com, Norma Lee is believed to have been in agreement with the building of publicity of Hurkos and thus, left out important aspects of Hurkos' crime solving work. Some of Hurkos' police work is known to have been erroneous, such as in the misidentification of the Boston Strangler. However other times it is known to have been extraordinarily accurate. For example, Hurkos was able to reconstruct whole crime scenes with only a fragment of information from that scene, while at other times Hurkos was unable to accurately identify the murderers themselves.
