Secondly, I want to write a few examples of my experiences and what I have been aware of that other's have told me or I have read about and have even seen firsthand related to "Holidays". I think its a cheap shot for businesses and some at home to write "X-mas". I am not a Christian but they have the right to respect for their "Christmas" to be spelled correct instead of that disgusting abbreviation. Next, I have observed that in this economic hard times that some folks are bragging about all the $$$ they spend instead of the QUALITY of their celebrations such as "giving plastic cards" instead of "gifts from the heart"; its sad; computer generated cards and gifts and no personal interaction; what's up with that modern tradition.
Thirdly, I watched a parent ,in a local retail store, shake a child that opened a candy cane that the parent had gave them to hold; HEY, I said, "That's a human you are shaking, screaming at, and why hand a two year old a candy cane to stare at and not open just so you do not have to interact with your child. Her response was,"Mind your own business! (swear word). I stated firmly," All humans are my business, do no harm is my business, and your child's safety is my business and it appears it is more important to me than to you." Several people in the store aisle stated,"Lady, you have been pushing, shaking, and screaming at that child throughout the store; its everybody's business. If your child is an inconvenience to you; give that child to someone who wants her."
Fourthly, some not all people who follow certain religious laws or creeds think that their holidays are the only holidays that are important. For example, I went into a well known holiday decoration store last week and ask for Kwanzaas and other Holiday cards and the clerk said, "We only sell Christian cards for our Christmas we do not sell pagan crap." I was almost speechless. I replied are you aware that Christian Holidays are the youngest on the face of the earth throughout the world." She made a mean face and walked away. I followed," Let me ask you this, If your holiday is so important and the only one you recognize in this store, Is this a Christian store, she replied,"No!". I also asked,"Why if your Christian holiday is so important do you have "X-Mas" on the window?"
What if you were to follow your religious teacher "Jesus" and spread peace among all and did not discriminate against any for any reason." Her response was,"It's the owner who makes me do things that way." Where is the owner I asked? She said, "The owner has the day off". Okay, then I will be back tomorrow and address these concerns!" She said," Christmas is not about peace its about spreading the word of Christan's; the only real religion!, Oh my God, I thought my head was going to burst. " I said to her," Have you ever heard of a false faithful person. She screamed, "I do not care what you are anyone else thinks, I am the owner." You have got to be kidding I screamed back, "Not only did you lower Christ to an X which nowadays means delete but you lied about being the owner and you are a racist and go against all the protections laws in our democracy." What exactly are you selling here lady? She said," I make my own religion and everyone will burn in hell if they do not follow Christian religion" No lady they wont because you are not any form of saint, God, hero, or not even a spiritual, religious or faithful human; in fact you are a money hungry monster who takes advantage of people who sincerely believe in their choice of religious freedom which not not include cheating and lying.
Of course everyone has experienced some form of discrimination related to their choice of faith or no faith; that's our right but when we cross the line to harm as that shop owner has done; that is then a crime or at least it should be a crime. It is my opinion that none of us knows if any or none of the religious faiths we have knowledge of are correct because we all take their teachings on faith not fact, its our heart that decides not the dollar sign, and not time saving abbreviations, I truly feel and think that abuse of our choice of religions or choices not to have a religions is not only UnAmerican but self-centered bull crap.
Millions of people are kind and respectful regardless of differences of opinions but the problem is all the millions that have an uneducated opinion and judge others harmfully and claim that they have the"right" answer to what holiday to respect or harm. I challenge everyone on this earth to bring peace and humanity healing during all holiday celebrations be they at home, in public or in stores.
