One of Life's Embarrassing Moments

Sad, but True...Oh, So True

Patty Kay
Just when I was beginning to believe that my little incident of, "why did it get dark in here," was the worst that I could possibly do, I had another moment.

I recently moved my home office upstairs, so I would have more privacy and quiet. Since my husband has been home from Iraq, he finds the television a lot more stimulating then I do, and I was getting a little irritated with the play by play explanations of television shows as I was trying to get some work done.

Now, I need to explain that after fourteen years of being together, we still flirt with each other and say really silly things. So what I attempted to do this evening wasn't anything out of the ordinary. However, I must stress here, what I attempted to do.

So, I was up stairs in my office and needed my husband for a minute. Instead of getting up and walking down stairs to get him or to holler for him, I decided to call my cell phone, which I knew he was the last one to have it.

As I waited for him to answer the phone I thought of something totally clever to say, and as the phone was anwered I said, hey sexy, wanna come up here and play." On the other end of the phone I heard a giggle and a question, "okay where?"

Immediately I realized that I had dialed the wrong number and was not speaking to my husband, but a total stranger! I slammed down the phone and ran down the stairs to inquire if that had been my husband that I had just spoke to on the phone. With a puzzled look on his face he answered, "No."

I explained what happened and we had a good laugh. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't stop laughing. I laughed so hard I gave myself a headache.

They say that laughter is good medicine, and Isure did get a double dose tonight.
