hiding in your room,
talking to the walls
of the psych ward.
A hopeless romantic
repeating the words
of star-crossed lovers
like an uncontrollable tic.
Afraid to forget
the fantastic magic
of life on the underside
of the looking glass.
You are the journey man
who triumphantly shrieks
upon reaching the far away
mountain peak.
Skepticism
colors the end
at the authors sudden fast wind
of mutual suicide.
Like a hollow wax moon
crushed underfoot
you see there is no other way to say
thou art mortal.
Violence scars
your dreams and
still the tender jewels
of love forever pulls.
Drowning in your lust,
feeling the searing
flames of death
but your still alive.
Only God knows
where you'll be
when Gabriel comes
then you'll be set free.
You are a one man carnival
believing in unreachable claims
and living with scorching pains,
making your home in the psychotic ward.

Post a CommentI agree with Heather, but really well done!
This a heavy and dark poem that seems to have been born from a very honest place. Thank you for sharing!
