The Monkees were a unique band, not just because they were put together specifically for a television series, but because their music is still vibrant and sounding as good today as it did back in the 1960's when it was first released.
Not only that, The Monkees broke the mold, and if not for them we might not have seen the rise of the Boy Bands over the last twenty or so years. That means no Take That, No Boyzone, Back Street Boys etc.
Currently The Monkees are set to tour the UK only, with 10 concerts taking place across England, Scotland and Wales, giving as many people as possible the opportunity to see them perform together once again.
Will the tour the USA however, or will the UK be their only venues?
According to Davy Jones's Official Site , he is performing his usual solo concert series in Disney World in Florida up to four days before the first UK concert, but from the last concert on 25th May until November 12th, when Davy plays sole again at Bearcreek Farms in Indiana, there is a long long gap.
I wouldn't normally speculate on something like this, however under the months of June, July and August 2011, there is just one entry for each month - "Here they come...".
There are various factors that may influence whether The Monkees decide to continue their tour back in the USA, which naturally include how the concerts fare in the UK, with regard to ticket sales as well as media reviews of the tour.
The health of Peter Tork also needs to be taken into consideration, as he has been suffering for a while with a rare form of cancer, affecting his head and neck, and for which he has had surgery in 2009. Peter is still touring though with his Blue Suede Shoes band, so right now it doesn't look as if his health will be a major issue.
The third member of The Monkees to return for the tour, Micky Dolenz, has been more recently on stage in London and Dublin in the hit musical Hairspray.
The one Monkee not set to reunite for the tour is Michael Nesmith, who is working full time with his video production company, Videoranch 3D, and it's naturally a shame for all the Monkees fans out there to not see the band unite in full for one last time.
As for whether tickets for The Monkees concerts will sell or not, I Am A Believer and feel sure their many fans from way back when will not want to miss this opportunity to see them, and I would personally take The Last Train To Clarkesville to get to one of their concerts.

I loved their music and their show when I was a kid.
Loved them. I remember going to school dances when their songs were so popular. Would be nice if they toured the U.S. too.
