One More Reason to Love My Home Reserve Sofa

Built-in Storage, Changeable Fabrics and Ease of Ordering Additional Sectional Sofa Pieces

If you have read my other articles about the folks at Home Reserve and their sofas, sectionals and chairs, then you already know how impressed I was with their innovative concept in furniture design from the very beginning. Specializing in affordable sofas and sectionals for small spaces that feature built-in storage and changeable sofa fabrics, Home Reserve offers great options for those of us who live in apartments, small houses or any dwelling that might have a narrow staircase, hallway or doorway.

Here are links to the articles I have previously published here about Home Reserve and why I chose a small space sofa with built-in storage:

How to Create Storage Space in a Small House or Apartment

I first learned of Home Reserve when I was searching for reviews for local furniture retailers in my area. While I was going through furniture-related discussions on Yelp, I came across a page where several Seattleites had chimed in with Home Reserve reviews and could not say enough about the affordable, flexible seating options offered. While the company is not located in this area - or even on this side of the country - their quick shipping had won over these local shoppers, particularly when coupled with the great prices and numerous added features found in each sectional, chair or sofa.

The characteristics of Home Reserve sectional sofas that immediately caught my interest were the built-in storage compartments under every seat and in every ottoman, the changeable (and in some cases washable) fabrics that allow you to completely change the look of a room just by purchasing new sofa fabric, and the ease with which you can change up your seating arrangement simply by separating the sectional pieces.

Once my Home Reserve sectional arrived and we quickly and easily assembled it, it was most definitely love at first sight. I could hardly contain my excitement as I filled each storage compartment with items that I had stuffed in every available closet and cupboard in our apartment. While the sofa looks fabulous, and you would never guess that we had assembled it ourselves, I really must say that the storage is truly my favorite thing about my sectional sofa. Those handy storage compartments have turned out to be the perfect place to keep things I want to have readily available but not necessarily out in the open.

And while I do love my storage, I now have a completely new reason to love my Home Reserve sofa and to tell everyone I know just how great this concept in furniture truly is. When we first ordered our sectional, we opted for an L-shaped layout that was 72 inches on each side. I did the whole thing where you lay a tape measure on the floor and all of that and thought that I had a pretty good idea of the space the sofa would take up and how it would look in the room. But once we actually had the sofa put together and in the space, it seemed a little small and a little too square (being the same length on both sides).

If I had purchased a sofa at a local furniture store or had ordered a sectional from a conventional furniture retailer online, I would have had to choose between just living with a sofa that was a bit dwarfed by the size and layout of the room and didn't fit my design vision, or going through the hassle of returning the sectional sofa and starting my search for a couch all over again. Plus, if I had ordered something from a conventional online retailer, I likely would have had to pay huge shipping fees to send the just-a-bit-too-small sectional back to them.

This was not at all the case with Home Reserve. We spent some time with the sofa as it was to determine how exactly we would like to change it. After a couple of months, we ultimately decided that one side being just a couple feet longer would be ideal for our particular space. If I had purchased a conventional sectional sofa from some other retailer, adding just one more chair section would be a huge hassle - if it was even possible at all - but ordering another sectional piece from Home Reserve was easier than ordering a pizza.

It took all of about five minutes to call Sandy in customer service at Home Reserve and order an additional sectional piece for our sofa. She quickly found my previous order, which gave her the information for the sofa style and fabric, and we were ready to go. About one week later, I was enjoying my now larger sofa that perfectly fits the space.

It is so simple and affordable to make changes to my Home Reserve sectional that I am now considering ordering a new set of fabric that will allow me to easily change the color of the sofa whenever I choose. Being able to change the size or color of your sofa on a whim - without the need to purchase a new sofa - is a brilliant concept that makes me love my sectional from Home Reserve even more.
