Well, my day started okay. I had a doctor's appointment that was three hours away. It wasn't really a doctor's appointment but a class. This class is a requirement before a surgery date is scheduled. I got up, showered, and woke my husband and my five-year old as they were going to drive with me. We left 45-minutes later, which was about 9:30 a.m. The appointment is about 1:30 p.m. so this would give us plenty of time to get there. We stopped at Denny's about 10:00 a.m. as we were all hungry. My 5 year-old was starting to get excited and act silly, which he was getting on my husbands nerves. We ate and were back on the road about 10:20 a.m.
We stopped again about 11:20 a.m. at a rest stop. This rest stop had a very beautiful view. My 5 year-old ran around for about 10 minutes. I was in hopes this would wear on his energy, but nope he was still wound up. We got to the destination about 12:45 p.m. since traffic was clear. My husband was getting rather irritated at my poor 5 year-old. The parking structure was a 4 story high rise. We parked on the 4th floor where no other cars were parking. My husband brought my 5 year-olds bike and pulled it out. He rode it up and down at least 5 times. He loved all that space in riding his bike.
Now, it was time for me to walk inside and find the location of the class. As I walked in I saw the sign directing me where to go. I walked over and went up the elevators to the 2nd floor. But I was a little confused as there was nobody in Room A or B of the conference rooms. I looked again, and scratch my head as it said Conference Room 1, not A or B. I looked again, and then realized that the appointment was today, but back in the town I live in! I thought, how embarrassing and how do I tell them what I did! I knew it was important for me to attend this class so I tried to see if there was a class held at this location. I spoke to another instructor and they showed me the list of classes being given today. Sure enough, there were none be given at this location. I then called the phone number on my slip. It brought me to a recording and all I could do was leave a message. So I was honest and left the true message!
I can't believe I drove 3 hours away from home to a required class that was only 15 minutes away from where I live! Then I had to drive 3 hours back to go home! I felt so stupid! My husband was really kind and didn't give me a hard time, which was a blessing. I didn't need my husband to give me a bad time when I was already kicking myself for what I did. Have you ever done anything as stupid as this? Please share and let me know, I'm not the only one that does stupid things!

Post a CommentPat, I probably would of stopped by a store and bought another charger... But that was cute...
My husband and I both do things like that all the time. And I've heard of worse. A day or two ago my husband drove 50 miles to return a new cell phone that didn't work. Only he forgot to take the charger, so had to drive 50 miles back home, pick up the charger, and then drive 50 miles back. To see a really stupid stunt, you might go to my page and read the article on cooties. Just don't be so hard on yourself. We all do things like that. Only some people won't admit it.
What's really perplexing is that you chose to write an essay about this rahter mundane experience.
