One Nice Dream

Casey
The face that haunts my nightmares

Nightmares that has me grinding my teeth

Waking me up in the middle of the night

Scared out of my mind

Not knowing which way is up

Afraid to fall back asleep to another one

Everyone thinks that it's just a joke

That I exaggerated, it really wasn't that bad

Well it was

I wish they could've lived one day in my shoes

Then I'd like to see their faces

It was more than once

Much more than lightly

I was a child forced into adulthood

I lost out on so much more than a peace of mind

I missed the parties, my graduation, my life

I feel so lucky if I can sleep one night

With one nice dream
