One Persons Victory Over Fibromyalgia

Many are needing help for fibromyalgia. If you are one of them, let me tell you a story of my Mom, and of another woman who got rid of her fibromyalgia. My Mom was a regular nurse in a hospital, then became a county nurse. Later she stopped being a nurse, and got into psychology. Along the way somewhere, Mom was diagnosed with the debilitating disease called fibromyalgia. She went to a doctor, the same doctor, for twenty three years. She did not get better. She was of course doing what so many do, and allowing the years to roll by, and thinking that she would always have to be on a certain drug for the rest of her life because of her fibromyalgia.

Well, enter another woman named Marilyn. She had a time similar to my Mom. She was diagnosed with fibromyalgia also. Instead of just succumbing to the hopeless future that her doctor gave her, Marilyn refused to accept a future with no hope of a cure. She was asking the doctor what was the "reason" why she was having these problems. Of course, she only got treatment for symptoms, and eventually got fed up with it. She took control over her own health and started on a special diet. She was eating raw foods, and taking special supplements. It took three months before the "symptoms" went away, but they did in fact leave. On top of being cured, she lost 20 pounds and loves not being sick anymore. This woman got help for fibromyalgia.

It is possible to accomplish what Marilyn did with some helpful details. She bought a juicer. She read the book by Doctor Norman Walker that told all about how to juice her food, especially vegetables. This man reportedly lived to age ninety nine while some say he lived one hundred years or so. She took a health supplement made from barley greens. She was diligent to stay on her special diet. It did not take long to see good results, according to Marilyn. This is a basic overview of how Marilyn got free of fibromyalgia.

But what about my Mom ? Did she get help with fibromyalgia ? Well, she is still fighting with the disease. I even have told her about Marilyn and asked her to speak with her. She refused. My Mom's nurses training has kept her from exploring those very things that could free her from her fibromyalgia predicament. But Mom has a closed mind. This "closed mind" attitude will no doubt keep my Mom in the chains of fibromyalgia. More and more I see people this way; because of a mindset that new information could never help, help is kept at bay. It has been twenty five years or so now that my Mom has been dealing with fibromyalgia. She simply limits her options. Her way has "got" to be the right way because that was what she was taught in med school. She is the classic example of; " If you keep doing what you have always done, you will keep getting what you have always gotten. " .

Let me explain something. When you take your car to the mechanic with a problem, and he fixes it, you pay him, thank him, and go on your way. If the mechanic does not fix your car, or is not able, you do NOT pay him, and of course do NOT thank him, because nothing was accomplished. Read closely; nothing was accomplished. Will you continue to go to the health professional, knowing ( In fact they probably have already told you that you will have to 'live with it'. ) that "nothing will be accomplished" except you keep paying and paying to only treat a "symptom" and not the cause ? You would never pay the mechanic who can not fix your car, but somehow you will pay the health professional who can not make you better. Think on that. If nothing is accomplished, then nothing should be paid.

Your first step towards your help with fibromyalgia is to motivate yourself. Do what is right by you. Do it for those whom you love and who love you. Then and only then try to do what Marilyn did, because if you take charge of your own health without enough motivation, you will undoubtedly fail. I wish you all the best, and much better health. Thanks.
