how do you sleep at night
with ambulances wailing
radios blasting ghetto rap rhythyms
voices in the street
crying, sobbing,
laughing uncontrollably in madness.
how do you rest at night
with children starving
living in cardboard boxes
while their mothers beg
for money to buy drugs
for their selfish empty desires.
no cure for the madness
only sorrow
broken tears falling falsely
for no one.
