One Young Couple's Long String of Bad Luck

A young couple in our community was at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon making burial arrangements for their stillborn son, Dayton Lee, when they received a phone call reporting their home was burning down.

The local newspaper reports the couple have absolutely nothing left but the clothes on their backs. This has to be so horrible to have to live through. Ms. Campbell had a difficult pregnancy and has been on bed rest for the last couple months. Mr. Tyan was in an accidents on March 31st that required back surgery. Mr. Tyan has been unable to return to work yet because of complications of the surgery. Mr. Tyan had applied for disability and was denied. Mr. Tyan was in the process of filing an appeal but now all his medical records are gone. Mr. Tyan reported he still has his job if he ever gets well enough to go back to work. Ms. Campbell has a job lined up as soon as the doctors release her to go back to work. The couple lost everything in the fire including the pictures of their newborn son. The cause of the fire has been undetermined and is still being investigated.

It is reported the couple is keeping their spirits up. The are depending on their faith to help them through these tragic times. The couple was quoted saying, "We want to ask why, but we know that everything happens for a reason." The couple was very lucky they weren't home when the home caught on fire. Trailer houses burn so fast. The community seems to be pulling together and helping the couple out. The Red Cross paid for a motel room for a few days.

Services for Dayton will be Monday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. Our hearts and prayers go out to this family.
