Online Article Writer Tips - Overcoming Obstacles

Jaipi Sixbear
Writers often site common obstacles they encounter in their day. We have a flair for the dramatic. To hear some writers talk, you would think there was no way for them to jump hurdles placed in their path. My Mom always said where there's a will, there's a way. How can you make common writing obstacles disappear?

Writers block is time oriented. Why are we always hearing about writers block? Because it's real. Jump this hurdle with a realization. Time is your best friend when it comes to writers block. To overcome it, you need only wait. While you're waiting for it to pass, instead of letting the frustration get to you, enjoy the rest of your life. There's a big world out there waiting for you to embrace it.

Finding your muse is amusing to me. Take note that the theory of muses came from Greek mythology. Note the word myth lurking there in the shadows. Can any one person or thing be your only inspiration to write? If you have the idea in your head that you must wait for the perfect inspiration in order to write an article, you won't likely produce many articles. Muses are myths. Treat them as such.

A lack of tools can be a frustrating obstacle. Thinking outside your parameters when facing imagined barriers can help. What if your internet is down? What if you can't afford a computer right now? People wrote without computers for many centuries before technology gave us this tool. Many great authors worked by candlelight. Write articles with pen and paper until you can get to or purchase a computer. When your tools are ready, you'll have plenty done in advance.

Opinions are just that. Know when to ignore negative comments on your online articles. Many writers let the opinions of others set them back. Some even give up entirely. While it's important to listen to the experts, it's more important to listen to and be true to yourself. Take opinions for what they are (one person's viewpoint and nothing more).

Your methods can be sand traps. What's that saying? If you always do things the same way, you will always get the same results. Don't get stuck on one method of doing things. Branch out. Learn. Grow. Above all, keep an open mind. Want to be successful? Hang out with successful people. Substitute your worn out methods with their effective ways. Looking to overcome writing obstacles? Be willing to change and grow. Don't get stuck on an obstacle, just because someone tells you it's normal to do so.
