Online Article Writers Tips - Writing to Impress

Jaipi Sixbear

I don't write online article writers tips to impress others with my writing prowess. I don't write them to acquire a vast fortune. I write them to help other writers with their mind set. I'm no writing superstar. I don't profess to be. Writers who write to impress often get caught in their own web of lies. They get so caught up in their writing persona, they become a different person in the eyes of others. Don't write to impress. Do make an impression. What's the difference? It's all in the way you look at things. So, if we're not trying to impress anyone, how should we write?

Write to educate. Remember you aren't writing for people who know everything. You're writing for people who don't know some of the things you do. You're writing to educate. It's not about snobbery. It's about helpfulness. So skip the big words you learned at whatever posh university you attended. Write for the people who actually might benefit from your experience. The big shots likely already know what you're trying to convey. Writing to impress will get you nowhere. Write for real people in the real world.

Think about:

*What you know.

*What would help others.

*What questions others might have in your area of expertise.

Write because you want to. Write because you have to. Write because it's what you were meant to do. Don't write because you have some glamorous idea about what being a writer means. Write with sincerity. Be yourself. Writing to impress readers with your superior intellect leaves your online articles sounding flat and phony. Not only that, when they meet you in person, they'll be disappointed to find you're human after all.

Remember:

*The feeling you got as a child in the stationary store.

*To write with passion.

Write as who you are. The best art reflects the soul of the artist. Misrepresenting yourself in your work is unwise. If you're an expert in your field and have the credentials to back it up, there's your subject matter. If you're an expert in the school of hard knocks, be honest about it. If your article information is based on research, give credit where credit is due. Writing to impress is pointless when taking credit for the knowledge of another.

Don't be afraid:

*To use your life experience as source.

*To project your enthusiasm

*To admit you don't know it all and cite other sources.

Write to free your soul, not enslave it. Writing is an art form, even when it isn't strictly creative. Art is an outlet for the workings of the soul. If writing is drudgery for you, it will be felt in your words. If you're truly excited and earnest about what you are trying to convey, your online articles will project that. If writing is simply another mundane job for you, it will be a mundane job for your readers to take it in as well.

Keep in mind:

*As an artist your heart and soul must be in your words.

*Write freely, then edit for specs.

Write with self pride. Never be ashamed of who you are. I have learned from prophets, poets and street people. Every human being has something to offer the world. Take no shame in who you are. Do not hesitate to express your opinions and reflections, no matter how unpopular your thought process is. Give of yourself when you write. Project your true self, your whole self. Stop writing to impress others. Write from your inner being, whether joyous, melancholy, simple or complex. Your readers will thank you.

Don't forget:

*Never hide your soul behind a false image.

*Remain sincere and true to your beliefs at all times.

I may not agree with 100% of these ideas (For example, when you are writing, not to instruct, but to persuade, you must impress your reader), but you have made some excellent points here. I hope you had a nice 4th, with a great summer to follow.

I always try to write from the heart, when I'm not writing from my imagination.
