Money -
Money is an obvious reason why people write online articles. But can these people who write articles and blogs really make a lot of money out of it? Sure. However, they will have to write a lot of articles in order to become wealthy from their articles. And these online writers will have to learn about proper keywording, publishing sites, and how to promote their articles. After all, if the articles are never read then the writers will never be able to generate any wealth from their work.
Charity -
Many individuals will write for charity purposes. Many publishing sites allow their writers to donate an article's earning to a specific charity. So instead of sending their specified charity a check in the mail, these writers just write an article and leave everything to the charity of their choice.
Fame -
Yes, many people will write online articles to stoke their ego a bit. These writers enjoy the attention that their articles generate, and will probably write copious amounts of articles in order to sate their writing lust. They may focus on one specific genre in writing, or as many as they think they're suited for.
Advertising -
Perhaps an individual is starting a new Web site, and he or she wants to get the word out about their new site. Well, one way to do that is to write lots of articles. Most publishing sites allow you to link to a personal bio page. On this bio page, you can follow the links that the writer posts. Usually, at least two or three links are allowed on the bio page. Sometimes you can have many more. Nevertheless, it's an excellent way to generate web traffic.
Just Because -
Some individuals publish online articles just to improve on their writing skills. Perhaps they don't even really like to write, but they do need to pass an English test. Hands on experience is one of the best ways to learn and this applies to writing articles as well. Writing on some publishing sites can become addictive and actually fun. It's almost like a video game for some people.
People write online articles for various reasons. No matter what the reason, writing online articles can benefit everyone. The individual writer improves his or her writing skill, while the reader is able to enjoy a new topic. Everybody wins.
