Online College Review - ECPI

Getting Your Accounting Administration Degree

Bailey Harris
The online environment provides learning opportunities for students who may not have access to a nearby college campus. Students enrolling in online courses receive the same high quality student support services that are provided to those on campus.

Students majoring in Accounting Administration are given the instruction and knowledge needed to gain entry-level employment in the field of accounting. Besides a curriculum that requires mathematics, reading, writing, and oral communication, Accounting Instruction also includes financial accounting, statement preparation and analysis, payroll procedures, and much more.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent to be eligible for entry into ECPI. Prior to being accepted into the program, students are also required to take an online English and Mathematics test. Applicants must achieve a specific score to avoid taking Introduction Courses in Math and English. Applicants can use other test scores in lieu of the online test. Acceptable alternatives include ACT, SAT, and ASVAB scores.

Students who are accepted into the program are required to meet all course assignments within one grading period. Examinations will be scheduled at the course instructor's discretion. Financial aid is available to those who qualify and each ECPI applicant is assigned an Online Admissions Representative, who is able to provide personal attention and prompt assistance.

ECPI proudly reports that their graduates have been hired by more than 2500 employers in 34 states. This could be due to their placement assistance program which helps assist those who have earned their degree. Overall, ECPI features a fair tuition and impressive credentials making it an incredible opportunity for those who looking to earn a degree online.

Additional Information:
Cost: Varies. Financial aid is available, depending on credit and financial history.
Online catalogues and applications are available.
Accreditation Agencies: Unlike many online colleges, ECPI is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools.

    Part 3
a bunch of questions and gave me chapters to study in areas he felt I was weak in.. Wont get that at a college..
    The bad..
The online courses SUCKED I finished my degree online and HATED the courses they were stupidly easy and didnt teach me anything but again it wasnt ECPI is Comptia's courses...

Anyway its a good school. one last thing my friend was attending a local college for IT networking his knowledge base was way below mine after graduation he had never touched loaded or even seen a linux machine or novel..not to mention he had never built a computer all these are standard at ECPI..

and most of the ladies that work there were straight up HOT!!!...

    Part 2
computer technology is to break the thing and fix it. Conversely goto a local college and see when you get computer time and if you do and you break it what happens?
I had a full range of OS classes from Linus to Microsuck and Novell. I got hands on experience with ALL the OSs the instructors NO different then Southwest Tennessee Community College or Austin Community College or Electronics Training at Corry Station in the Military.. THere were good ones and bad ones. If you didnt like the instructor just pop over to the admin window and change the class no big deal. The school was great it all depends on you and how much you are willing to learn
The Microsoft courses were not that good meaning after we had taken server and enterprise all the books were the same for the next classes. But they were NOT ECPI books they were microsoft press books so I blame MS for that..
The teachers were always helpful especially when I had a job interview one of them took me aside and ask m

I attended the Virginia Beach Campus.. in 1999 and then finished my degree online.. First off are they Money Greedy? YEP.. but then again THEY ARE A SCHOOL they are there for the money DUH!!.. anyway, Dress code complaint at the bottom.. Good im glad you left the dress code while I was there was GREAT. I felt like i was surrounded by professional minded people. yeah there was the occasional dirtbag but for the most part the dress code was needed. It kept Shaniqua from walking around in her ghetto gear I loved it.
    Now about the education..
There was alot of good and some bad. My degree was IT network security.. All the classes had a computer for every student on the desk and their own removable hard drives that were imaged the night before or if they had been messed up. We had complete reign over the drive. So, I could do anything I wanted to it and al they had to do was re image it. This provided me the opportunity to really mess around with the system and learn. The only way to lea

  • Why me8/4/2008

I'm a student at ecpi with one term left to go and they are threatening to throw me out for not meeting there dress code this is a bunch of bull. I dress nicely and would where this to an inter view not the one or two dollar shirt from good well that they advised me to get fast and cheap. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone they say one thing to get you in the door then change very fast.

I attended ECPI and and at first I loved and was very involved. The longer I was there the more I realised it is a waste of time and money. None of the faculty were there to help students it was very political and they just wanted their money. The tuition is way to high for what they teach. You can find similar school that have a better understanding of teaching and helping students with thier careers. They are not put together well. While I was there they went through many teachers and advisors so no one was there to help when you need it. The advisors are not as helpful to females. The career department was never a help to anyone I knew there. I liked the way it was fast tracked and not like a tradional school as far as the terms and classes went but that was the only possitive thing about the whole school. The worst part was I was overcharged for tuition. If you do decide to go there keep close track on all tuition paid whether it is cash, loans, grants, or scholarships

This school is a waste of your money. $30,000 for tuition is not worth it from this school... stick to your local community technical college. At least they know what they're doing. I graduated from ECPI with a degree in their Security & Network Management major and I was an excellent student there, but because I was female I never got the respect that I deserved. The Head of Academic Department said I wouldn't be able to make it in this field during my first month onboard. I got the chance to do a work-study with the Network Admin at the school along with another male student. However, that male student was given all the more advanced technical duties while I was given tasks like removing RAM sticks from unused computers and helping a technically-challenged staff plug in a speaker. I had to ask for more challenging duties... it just wasn't immediately given to me. Also, their Career Services Department is a joke. I got laid off from my full-time job and went to them to help m

I attend ECPI, and I would highly recommend this college to anyone who wants a good career; FAST. Of course, ECPI is mostly a technology college, so was never intended to function the same way 4 year colleges do. I disagree with Drainoboi, because any degree will greatly help you. I believe that your education will never be a waste of money, unless you want it to be.
