The founder, Jerry Miller of FarmersOnly.com was looking at other dating sites and didn't see anything that was specific to farmers. He was a recently divorced farmer and found it hard to meet people who had similar backgrounds and interests. His search left him unsatisfied so he started researching online dating sites for six months. The final result is FarmersOnly.com
You join the site by filling out a registration form. This is how you start your profile and you can tell about yourself and what you are looking for in a mate. The questions on this site ask you what type of stock your raise and about your crops! This site, along with most other online dating sites suggests adding a picture for a greater chance at finding a match. You do not have to use your real name and you choose a username.
Upon signing up you become a member of the community with a free 14 day trial. This trial allows you to use all the premium options of membership. Costs range from $9.99 a month to $59.99 a year. If you want to continue your service you will pay a premium. The premium option allows you to search for criteria based on things like location, age and more.
There is an onsite mail system so that you can contact those members that you are interested in. You can also contact them to let them know you are available to IM or Instant Message. Choosing to stay in contact with the people you talk to is totally up to you. Online dating services offer a way to contact people you may not have known were in the dating pool looking for companionship.
The site currently states that one couple has wed and five more are engaged all ready!
