The winks & communication started. I decided to let all the men pick me. I did not wink at anyone first. I thought to myself "Men are superficial so they can contact me". If they like the way I look, then they will let me know they are interested. I did not want to waste my time on a guy that only dated blonde with breast implants.
I decided I would only go on lunch dates or late afternoon drinks. I started by meeting my dates in a restaurant near my workplace. I thought this would be a safe meeting place. It was 25 miles from my house, so no chance of seeing my neighbors while on an on-line date. I also made my best friend promise to call me after 30 minutes, so If I was having a bad time I could make an excuse & leave. I thought I was fully prepared to start this next adventure in my newly single life.
My very first date was a tall handsome salt & pepper 44 year old guy with a great personality. We had lunch & then drinks for two hours. I couldn't stop staring at this hunky man. He seemed so charming, successful, and funny. He complimented me & told me it was a pleasant surprise to actually meet a girl that looked better in person than her photo. I was being swept off my feet. We both were divorced single parents. He had inverstment property. I sold real estate. It seemed like a good match. I then decided to accepted a date for the next weekend.
The date went so well that it lasted for four drinks. He was walking me to my car & suddenly I decided to ask how many times he had been married. At least he was "honest", he said five times. It was a good thing I did not ask during our meal. I might have choked on my food. I had just had lunch with the male version of "Liz Taylor". He was definitely charming five wives & only 44 years old. I politely got in my car & left the area. I had given him my cell phone number after accpeting the date. He kept calling trying to confirm the details for our next date. I made several excuses & he finally stopped calling.
I then decided to ask a few additional screening questions before the first date. How many times have you been married? This doen't mean they will actually be honest, but at least I will ask.
I kept my sense of humor & continue on my on-line dating adventure.
