Online Jobs - Scams or Real

So here we are. Right smack in the middle of a worldwide recession, house foreclosures, bank and business failures and huge taxpayer bailouts. What's worse? You are among the millions who lost their jobs this year. You've been searching for months with no results and the prospects of finding employment are not looking good. All you want to do is find someway to pay the bills and put food on the table.

Now what? You are between fifty and retirement. Go back to school, they say. Well, you need money for that. Unemployment doesn't pay the bills, so how do you pay for an upgrade in education? Loans? Banks are hording their money these days. Even if you decided to go to school, is the investment in time and money really worth it? Can you compete with a younger worker in a workforce where the employer appears to hold all the cards and has lots of resumes to chose from?

Continuing to educate yourself is never a waste of time, but sometimes we have to think outside the box and be willing to take a risk to move past a bump in the road. If you've decided to hit the virtual byways and highways of the Internet to help ease past that bump, then you definitely have to educate yourself.

There are job opportunities on line mired in the maze of scams you have to find your way through. All you want is a job to buy groceries and pay the bills. All they want is your money. They don't care about your financial situation. That's where the education part comes in.

Not all is as it seems. The sites you google look nice. They explain why you should join them, give testimonials and tell you how you can make a million dollars in a month only working 2 to 3 hours a week. Bull rubbish. Run from that site as fast as you can. That's a scam big time. Don't ever pay for anything that promises you money without having to work for it. That's not how the real world works. You know that.

You can find companies who want your opinion and will pay you to do surveys and read emails. You probably won't be able to replace an unemployment check doing this, but it's a start and if you do enough of them, they might pay off for you. Finally, what about an honest to goodness, real work at home opportunity. They are out there. You will need an updated resume. You apply in a matter you are accustomed to except you don't go to the company in person. Some jobs are for working at home, some are for working for the company in house. The advantage of applying to a job on line is a larger pool of possible jobs, no commuting back and forth, no office politics and you can work in your "at home" clothes. Take a whirl around the Internet. You might be surprised and pleased by what you find. You won't become a millionaire, but you could generate enough to make it worth your time.
