Online Preschool Sites that Your Child Will Love

Short Website Reviews of Some of the Preschool Sites on the Net

You know, this past spring I got caught with a paperwork issue with my youngest son. We couldn't get him into Pre-K at the school, and since I do most of my work at home, it was me and him. Great bonding time true, but when it came to keeping him actively engaged with some form of school work that he was used to so I looked around online and found some great online programs that really helped me out. Not to mention, we both have had a great time playing the learning games.

http://funschool.kaboose.com/preschool/index.html
Kaboose-This site has a lot that kids can do, from coloring and learning ABCs with Amazing Animals ABC Coloring Pages. They also have over 20 pages of arcade games kids can play when they don't feel like counting or coloring. Parents, don't worry though, a lot of these games involve counting or connecting letters to connecting opposites, so it's all good. There is also a spot for parents and teachers to download lesson plans and order books for kids.

Overall, very versatile for everyone.

www.fisher-price.com/us/playtime
Fisher Price also has a great site to grab some online lessons from, but they're mostly designed as games. That's still good, especially when you got programs like Leapster and Leap Frog out there doing the same thing. Fisher Price has the tap and color game for infants, an ABCs Zoo Learning Game for toddlers, and a phonics learning game for preschoolers. There are other games, but those are the ones my son liked the most.

Also for expecting mothers, the site has an area for you as well, from being able to keep a journal, to browsing their babygear. You can also get helpful checklists and send e-cards out.

www.noggin.com
Noggin-this channel has taken over my little boy's mind (jus joking) He, like many kids right now are really into the world of Noggin and it's been a hit in my house. One of the best things I do sometimes with him is to sit back, and watch him play a few games based on the popular shows on the network and at times get in on the fun myself. The channel is slam packed with games, printables, and some recipes you can try out with your kids. They also have a page explaining to parents what Noggin is all about and their mission. Well written I must say. I really explains about connected learning and it's effectiveness.

http://www.sproutonline.com
Sprout Online-If your kid is a PBS kid like mine, then this site is where you need to be. Coloring pages, craft ideas, recipes, activities, yeah, it has a lot to do. It also has a video area, gallery, and the gallery is a great way to work with your child and share a drawing of what your family enjoys doing together.Parents can then upload a scanned image of the child's work and then submit it for an artwork contest. However, it's only open to registered members of Sprout Online so sign up and get involved!

Well those are a few that me and my son enjoy together. And even though he's going to Pre-K this fall, we're still going to be visiting the sites, learning, and having fun all at the same time.
