Online Printable Cross Stitch Patterns

Liz Copeland
Do you like the ease and convenience of finding cross stitch patterns online? Is instant (or somewhat instant) gratification right up your alley? If so, then this article is for you. If you're interested in free patterns, that's already covered in another article I just wrote. If you want to branch out into bigger and harder patterns or greater selection, but still enjoy the ease of online patterns sent straight to your inbox or printer, then keep reading.

Heaven and Earth Designs

Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED) is a very poplar company for high quality cross stitch designs. You can now buy their printable cross stitch designs on their website and download them onto your computer.

Cross Stitch Collectibles

Home of the Fractals cross stitch designs that are becoming so popular in cross stitch circles. They also have other fine art and beautiful cross stitch patterns that are more traditional than the Fractals series. They also have a free fractals bookmark for download, and the pattern available changes regularly. You can purchase their patterns online using paypal and download right away.

Teresa Wentzler

TW Designworks sells some of their wonderful fantasy cross stitch patterns exclusively through Patternsonline.com. Check them out as well for more printable cross stitch patterns from designers of all types.

Artecy Cross Stitch

Artecy offers only printable cross stitch designs for download and they have a membership option for people who want more than a few of the patterns in their large selection. The membership fee is actually quite reasonable, considering the size of their collection. Less than $20 USD for a lifetime membership. Though the company is in Australia, they have many US customers.

Yiotas-xstitch

A UK company specializing in printable cross stitch designs, they offer many charts in download format. They have a rather large selection, so you shouldn't be disappointed.

Creative Poppy.com

A website in English and French that offers patterns from many different designers much like patternsonline.com.

Cross Stitch.com

Membership grants access to all their patterns. They also have a 1 month/3 patterns trial offer. They do have a fairly good selection so if you tend to cross stitch fairly often, you might want to look into them. You can browse the patterns without a membership. They're a very well known online site in part thanks to their Caption Maker, which allows you to convert words into a cross stitch pattern with their fonts.

Moonlight Inspirations

Moonlight Inspirations also allows for electronic downloads of their cross stitch patterns. They tend to have a cute and country theme, though some of their printable patterns stray from the theme and are worth a look as well.

Lulu

Believe it or not, Lulu, the self-publishing website/company, does offer printable cross stitch patterns from several designers. Just buy the eBook of any pattern you want.

Etsy

Etsy is home to many crafters who regularly sell their products online. While shipping (even via email) isn't instant, buying on etsy has bonuses. You get to see feedback from other buyers. You have direct contact (if you want it) with the seller even before you buy. You can also sometimes find someone who will design a printable cross stitch pattern just for you either by contacting a designer or by requesting one through Alchemy, which is for custom orders.

As time goes on and we become more internet friendly, more designers and retailers will allow electronic shipping, giving us more access to quality printable cross stitch patterns. Please check out my other article, titled Free Cross Stitch Patterns, for more patterns and websites.
