Online Scams: A Comprehensive Overview

A Review List of the Various Online Scams in This Series

Paul Wilson
The list of online scams never seems to quit growing. Just about the same time one of the latest tricks becomes worn out another one comes along. The complaints are always along the same line of deceit. The Better Business Bureau does not recognize any of these online offers, and for very good reason. You would be hard pressed to find even a couple happy customers for any one of them. The testimonials that some have on their site should be ignored, because they can't be verified.

These ads show up everywhere. Your email, established online papers, weather sites, sport publications and even financial sites all have them. They are still paying advertisers, so not much attention is given to them by the hosting site. Just because the ad shows up on a site that you trust does not mean you should trust the advertisement in question, as they have no bearing to each other. A lot of these online scams are very lucrative and they will pay the extra money for the more well known hosting sites.

The " free trial" part of the ads are generally a very good eye catcher to the general public, but be warned ahead of time. Free trials are not free at all if they request your credit or debit card information. They may tell you it is for shipping, but they still have the information to use. There are an awful lot of complaints out there about fraudulent billing, and their way in is through your valuable account information. A free trial can and will cost you much more than shipping and handling.

The fine print on these offers can also be a killer to your account. You can end up buying a high priced monthly subscription to some junk you do not even want. Not just a monthly recurring bill for the original product, but even a related product covered in the fine print. There is a very fine line between fine print and a legal binding contract, so make sure you read every tiny word they have on the advertisement.

Just look the following list of online offers over to see if you find one that you may be considering. The linked articles will give you some very good insight on what you may expect. The lists of complaints are all similar, even though the offers are all different. fraudulent billing, unauthorized billing, inferior product, and no promised refund as advertised are just a few of the many complaints.

Be very cautious, and the best of luck in your shopping endeavors.
