Online Scrabble Games

Find Your Fix Here!

Do you love to play Scrabble but can't always find a willing partner at home? Maybe you've won too many games played against friends and family members, or maybe they're just tired of playing. Solitary computerized games are fun, but they're not nearly as enjoyable or as challenging as playing against a real person.

If you can't get enough Scrabble to feed your addiction, the Internet provides a number of online Scrabble games that can be played in real time or by e-mail. Take a look at the following online Scrabble games. Most are free, some are better than others, but all of them will satisfy your insatiable craving for Scrabble.

What I personally like best about online Scrabble is the opportunity to play leisurely games. With online games there are no pieces to pick up, no board to put away, automatic scoring, and built-in dictionaries. I've also befriended some very nice people from all across the globe that I otherwise wouldn't have met. Once you play Scrabble online, you won't want to play any other way!

http://www.scrabulous.com/ is a good version of online Scrabble. Players can play real time games with others, they can play against robots, or they can play leisurely games with friends and family by e-mail. I tried playing against another person in a real time game, but I found it to be stressful compared to the leisurely games I was used to playing by e-mail.

I also tried playing against one of the many online robots, and I was very disappointed with the outcome of the game. Although I'm a competitive player, the robot clearly had a huge advantage over me. It continually crammed words together which eventually made the game impossible to play.

Also, I didn't realize online spectators could watch the game and comment, and I was even more disgusted when an uninvited guest left a very rude comment during my game. She simply said pitiful, and she probably went on to provide her rude and uncalled for comments elsewhere. I thought the game was in fact pitiful, but not because I wasn't a competent player. I recommend this website if you are looking for free online leisurely games by e-mail. Avoid playing real time games unless you don't mind stress, rude comments, and total frustration.

http://us.bugcafe.net/language/en/home.bug which was formerly known as Scrabble Bug is a worthwhile place to play a free version of online Scrabble. I found this website when my favorite site was temporarily down, and although I didn't feel it was as good as my personal favorite, it was a satisfactory substitute. If you're looking for a free version of this ever-popular word game, give this website a try. Sign up for a game manager account and you'll be able to keep track of statistics, current games, game history, and more.

http://thepixiepit.co.uk/scrabble/ is my favorite place to play Scrabble by e-mail. Although the site charges a yearly fee of $10, this online game is well-worth the cost. It's the most accurate version of Scrabble that I've ever found online. You can always locate willing partners on the site forum, and there are many options for multi-player games, language choices, an optional word finder, numerous dictionaries, tiny tiles, and much, much more. Super Scrabble is also an option. The Super Scrabble board is much larger than a standard Scrabble board, and this online game provides more opportunities to double, triple, and even quadruple your score. I highly recommend The Pixie Pit for those who love online Scrabble by e-mail, but I have one statement of warning that I feel obligated to mention. This online Scrabble game is highly addictive!
