As you're going through the various online blue jeans websites, open up separate windows for the stores you are interested in. Then as you find pairs of jeans you are interested in buying, you can compare them side by side with the other sites to get the lowest price. For Internet Explorer users, this is easily done by minimizing the current window your are viewing down to your tray and clicking on the IE icon on your Windows home screen. You can have multiple windows open at one time but if you're on slow connection, like dial up, you may not want all of the windows trying to download a site at the same time.
You could also have a pen and pad of paper handy to jot down notes about the various sites or open up a word processor or wordpad and keep notes on your computer screen. When your surfing for sales, simply minimize the word processor to clear it out of the way and bring it back up when you have more notes to add.
Something you will want to keep in mind is how much you are planning on spending. Many of the sites will offer free shipping at a certain sales level, usually around $100. That would end up saving money but if you weren't going to spend that much, you'll need to figure the price of the pair of jeans you want to buy with the shipping included. Many times once the shipping is added in, the price of the jeans isn't such a great value anymore when you can drive a short distance and get them for a lower price. If the blue jeans you are interested in are only sold at fashion stores in malls and such and it's a long drive to the mall, you may come out better getting them online to keep from spending money on gas. Do the math both ways and see which way you'll come out better.
Once you've gotten familiar with some online sites you've been doing business with, keep an eye out for some of their competition. If you used a search engine to find the store you shop with now, use the same search phrase and see if there is a new store with the same brand of blue jeans but a lower price.
And finally, before spending any money at one of the blue jeans websites, look for online customer reviews of different sites. Find out if a site delivers on it's promise of fast shipping or a guarantee on their products. Even better, if their site lists a customer service telephone number, call them and see how friendly they are on the phone. Will they answer your questions in a pleasant voice or explain their terms of service of their site? You can get a lot of information about a site just by speaking with a representative.
Shopping for blue jeans online can be as much fun as going to the mall for the same purpose, except when you finish your shopping online, you can find your car. Make sure you know your size and measurements before you place any orders so you get the right size. If you have to ship the jeans back because they don't fit, you'll have to pay for the shipping out of your own pocket. There goes your savings, right out to the mailbox.
