Fortunately for some of us, modesty has come back into style in a big way. Personally, I prefer modest clothes, but I'm also unbelievably picky about style. Since I wasn't having much luck finding clothes I liked in my area, I started hunting around online. What I found was that while there are dozens of sites claiming to have modest clothing, a lot of the styles are either frumpy or just not what I'd consider modest. There are, however, are a few sites out there that offer truly beautiful modest clothing. Here are some of the best I've found. These sites are aimed at several different religions, but the clothes look good no matter what your personal beliefs.

If you're looking for practical, elegant clothes that will keep you covered, ShukrOnline.com is the place to find them. The selection here is huge and each and every item is fashionable. There's a seemingly never ending collection of skirts that changes with the seasons, tasteful wide-legged pants, and simple dresses you could wear to almost any workplace. They even have outerwear like jackets and coats. Considering the quality, the prices are surprisingly low. If they're a little out of your price-range, though, just wait for one of the frequent sales. A word of warning, though-if you see something you like, snap it up immediately because they often run out of colors and sizes for certain items.

Tznius.com doesn't have the widest selection around, but is a good source of simple, affordable modest clothes. They do have quite a few elegant skirts, most of which are ankle-length. A lot of the skirts come in simple styles and basic colors, so they make great foundation pieces for your modest wardrobe. Head coverings are another specialty of theirs and the collection of headscarves, caps, hats and hair snoods is well worth a browse. The sleeves of their tops tend to reach only to the elbow or mid lower arm, so they're not for everyone. They occasionally have maternity wear available, too, although the collection is usually fairly limited.

Raza designs makes some of the most gorgeous modest clothing I've seen online. The bridal peignoir sets are just breath-taking. Most cost around $130 to $250, but considering the quality and design, they're worth it. If you'd like a similar Raza piece, but you're on a budget, there are some beautiful night gowns for under $100. The casual wear does look a little frumpy, but the collection of elegant caftans makes up for it. They also offer plus-sized clothing.

Arti Zara Treasures from the East has an eclectic collection of truly modest clothes. There are some lovely skirts that reach to the ankles and pants in modest cuts. This is one of the few places online where you can find formal wear that's very feminine, yet totally modest. Along with clothing, they also sell jewelry and perfume. Arti Zara is a little pricier than some, but many of the clothes are hand-woven and will last years.

Modest dresses, jumpers, skirts, and tops abound at HannahLise.com. Here you'll find a good selection of form-flattering skirts and while not all of them reach the ankles, very few have those annoying slits up the back. Most of their tops have elbow-length sleeves, but many do cover the collar bone and they also sell long-sleeved cardigans and jackets.

It's not always easy to hunt down fashionable and truly modest clothes online, but once you know where to look, you'll be able to find beautiful items you can feel comfortable in and that won't break your budget.
