Online Trading Tips - Insider's Guide to Earn a Huge Income from EBay

You can sell anything off the Internet these days. You can even buy exotic items online. There is no more hassle in getting specific drugs off the market. Online traders will even send it to your house! Of course online trading has grown into such a huge business the income that you can gain from trading online is simply unimaginable.

E-commerce is a billion dollar industry and online trading is just a mere fraction of it. Of course, one of the most successful online trading portals inevitably is eBay. eBay has grown into such a huge proportion that their trading services is extended to almost every part of the world. Regardless of your age, sex, race, religion or country, anyone with an Internet connection can participate on eBay.

Trading online isn't difficult. It just takes time and a little persistence to learn the tips and tricks in mastering the trade. You will need to know what sells like hot cake and what doesn't sell in the market. Of course, venturing into online trading requires some guts - the guts to try. It's not rocket science but be sure to have a calculator with you all the time.

Here are some trading tips that you can use as a guideline:

Buy low sell high - The basic rule in trading! Always buy at a low margin and sell it at a profit. Never, I repeat, never buy high and sell low - there is no logic in it. Sometimes, though chances of getting a discount are extremely slim, just ask the seller for a little discount. This may annoy the trader, but of course there is nothing wrong asking. I've actually asked all my traders during transaction for a discount and a few agreed to give me some.

Know eBay and find out more on other auction sites - Spend some time researching items found on eBay. Get to know what products sells at a low margin on eBay but sells like hot cake on other auction sites. Keep track of the item's pricing and remember roughly how much it costs. You need to know in general how things are priced over in eBay. There are always price bargains going on in eBay. On rare occasions, people simply missed an item that is priced at $1 each. Compare the prices of the items that you are tracking with a local auction site (if any). Use the basic rule once again, buy low and sell it high. Use currency exchange as your weapon. Compare the prices of one country to your own. You might just find a niche by doing so.

Create multiple accounts in eBay - A regular eBay account can only store a maximum of 100 items. This is simply insufficient. I filled up all my slots in just a day. There are simply too many items to keep track on eBay. The solution, create more. Though it might sound unethical, but still it is possible to create multiple accounts on eBay. Use these accounts individually to track specific products. For example if you are interested in trading computer parts, create an account to track a specific category. For example, create individual accounts to track the processors, graphic cards, RAM, hard disk and more.

Do a search on International items rather than items found only in your country - Use the all powerful 'Advanced Search' function found at the top corner. Type a keyword in the text box and change the item's location to worldwide. You will be able to see all the items listed on eBay worldwide. Try logging in to your local eBay so that eBay can show the price in your local currency. By doing an international search, you are in fact trading worldwide!

Manipulate the postage fees - Yes, postage fees can be manipulated. I've seen people charging $10 to $20 just to deliver the product to you. And I notice on eBay UK, some even charges £15 to £20 just to deliver it in UK itself. As you all know that the British pound is the strongest currency at the moment, why not manipulate it? If you are not from UK, you might want to consider selling your items at cost price but make sure the buyer agrees to pay for the postage. Though £15 to £20 for postage isn't a really big issue for UK citizens, you can even throw in a little discount just to satisfy the buyer.

Get a basic translator - When trading in an international market, you will find people with different languages. For example in eBay Europe, you will find French, German or other native languages being used on eBay. If messaging to the trader using English does not work, try getting a basic translator to translate for you. This comes in handy when browsing the items on eBay. Try installing the translator inside your browser. Though the translation might not be 100% accurate, at least you can understand roughly what the buyer or seller is trying to say on their eBay listings.

Create an eBay store - Of course, if you want to sell items just like an online store, eBay lets you open a store using their system. Customize your store accordingly and prospective buyers can visit it 24 hours a day.

Always try to use Safe Trade - Online fraud is rampant. If you are trading with some one who is not from your country, you might want to take extra precaution. eBay offers an ingenious solution called Safe Trade. This protects the buyer and of course the seller.

Payment and collection methods - PayPal is an integral part in eBay. Getting a PayPal account is free. Collecting and making payments are simply easy. However, you might notice that PayPal does not extend their service to some country. In that case, you can try using other payment processors to assist you in payment or collection of funds. Try using MoneyBookers, WorldPay, 2CheckOut, iKobo, StormPay, eGold, eBullion, and many more.

There are in fact many personal testimonials which you can find online on those people who have succeeded in building a successful business on eBay. Try learning from these experts and you might get a trick or two. Good luck and never get cheated online!
