Well, it's Saturday night and I decided I'd stay in tonight. I was a little bored so I decided to go on-line and check what new PC games were out there on the web. I browsed through Yahoo's game section and fell upon Delicious Deluxe 2 and thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try.

So here's the plot of the game. Emily's is the main character, and her uncle gives her a call and says his son left him high and dry with the restaurants that he was helping his Uncle run. He may have even fixed the books. So Uncle Antonio wants Emily to help him out by running one of his restaurants. Emily says that since he is her favorite Uncle, she will help him out by selling lemonade and food in the park.

The game starts out with an introduction, explaining how the game is played. You basically have to make the food for the customers and bring it to them. You make food such as hot dogs, popcorn, shakes, soda, etc. When they are done eating, you take their cash and clear off the table. The game gives you a goal to reach to pass the level and also an expert goal to reach to earn extra cash to decorate the restaurant.

Decorating the restaurant consists of planting new flowers, getting new tables, a new ice cream stand, new popcorn stand, new deck, etc. The decorations help to bring in more customers and make them more satisfied, which leads to greater profits.

As the levels go on, the pace quickens. You get a hippie that offers to play for your customers. Emily doesn't even have to pay him, he does it for the love of music. Later on, Emily also gets a bus boy who clears off the tables and helps her get more work done.

The graphics on the game are very bright and colorful. The music is relaxing, but monotonous. The game did give me a bit of an adrenaline rush near the end of my free trial. I felt more and more addicted to the game as I played and in the end was disappointed when it ended.

I did think that the game could have provided a little more diversity in choosing your restaurant, character, or story line. I guess I did only play the trial version for less than an hour, so there may be more options when you purchase it. The price to purchase the game was $19.99. If I had an extra $20.00 to burn, I don't think I would purchase this game, just because it doesn't have a great deal of options.

Delicious Deluxe 2 was fun though, so I would recommend taking advantage of the free trial, just for kicks.
