Only the Moon

Poem

Kady Birdwhistle
Every day I wake
Stretch my toes against the gentle wind

A voice calls me
It is the one that screams of jealousy

I long to ignore
Placing fingers slightly on my ears

Tigress stretches claiming me
I am quietly her pray, but I do protest

I protest loudly
Like the cat-call of wilderness humanity

Every day I am waking
Stretch my toes against the gentle wind

A voice calls me
It is one that I call the monster of me

I long to ignore
Challenging this little fool to quit-it

I protest loudly

Try not to let the tigress get you down ... never let 'em see you sweat :-)
