Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea

A Poetic Song I Wrote

Chris Berry
She likes walking on moonbeams
And vapor trails
Living on the edge
But she's trying to sell
Her heartbreaks
And her heart beats
But nobody's buying
They just came to see
It's like a traffic jam
On the Freeway
Nobody's giving her the leeway
To catch a ride
Or make it right
It's just a freak show fantasy
A once upon a life
And I say
Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea

She likes spending all the money
But she doesn't like the price she has to pay
And she don't want to give up none of her honey
She'll just wreck your mind
And steal your time
But she'll rock you like a midway carnival ride
And I say
Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea

She likes tripping on rainbows
Stepping on hard sells
Straying to the edge
But she can't fail
'Cause her heart takes
What her soul needs
You can't cut her
She just don't bleed

It's like a fairy tale
A magic carpet ride
With a runaway prince
And a good looking bride
She won't do the time
But she'll do you right
It's just a freak show fantasy
A once upon a life
And I say
Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea

She's just holding out for that one day
But she doesn't like the price
She might have to pay
And she knows that she only knows
That one way
But she'll do just fine
And she'll do just right
And she'll do you like a freak show
An E ticket ride
And I say
Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea
Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea
Ooh Whea, Baby, Ooh Whea
Ooh Whea

  • This song starts out with just voice and piano until the first chorus part.
  • The song is a ballad with harmonies in the chorus parts.
  • I originally wrote the song about a bi-polar woman who became my wife.
I posted these song lyrics because I like the poetic symbolism. It's kind of a character study. See if you can figure out what the song is about.
