OOKISA, is it Worth the Money?

Samantha Jean Lincoln
It is pretty safe to say that all women want to have sleek, shiny, full-bodied hair. For a lot of women this is an impossible task and often becomes a daily struggle, there are so many different hair types such as, dry, oily, coarse, frizzy and baby fine. To find a shampoo and conditioner or even a complete hair care system that will accommodate these different, hard to deal with hair types can be a frustrating and expensive task. I have literally spent hundreds of dollars on hair care products that claim to do all kinds of magnificent things to improve your hair, but only about 40% of those hair care products that I have tried actually delivered on their promises. I am always on the hunt for new and improved hair care products and I am willing to try anything once, even if it is on the expensive side. Why you may ask? Well, I was always told by my father that, "A woman's glory is in her hair" this statement is also in the Bible.

So when I recently came across OOKISA hair care system, I was immediately sucked in by their great advertisement. "OOKISA" is the Japanese word meaning dimension or volume. The first thing that I noticed on their website at www.ookisa.com was that they claim their product will restore, re-grow, thicken and strengthen your hair. Well like I said, I am willing to try anything once, so I'll bite. Before I tell you my results from using the product, I want to share some much-needed important information.

OOKISA comes from Central Asia and is one of the top selling hair care products in Asia, Paris, and London. OOKISA has become a luxurious approach to maintaining gorgeous hair. This hair care system includes Fortifying Shampoo, Replenishing conditioner, Instant Volume Souffle and the Nighttime Follicle Renewal Serum. These products do not come cheap, but in my opinion they are worth the money if you can afford it. Listed below are the individual prices.

Fortifying Shampoo $39.95

Replenishing Conditioner $39.95

Instant Volume Souffle 27.95

Nighttime Follicle Renewal Serum $62.95 (This is totally outrageous) You can get a similar product made by Pantene Pro-V Smooth serum for 5.86 at walmart that will give the same results. This is the only one of the OOKISA products that I did not purchase.

I used the products for a full 2 weeks and have to say that I did notice a difference in the way my hair looked, felt and moved. Their claims that it will give volume and control to your hair is true, I found the citrus and peach scents were lovely. When I washed my hair with the fortifying shampoo, I noticed a pleasant tingle when scrubbed into my hair. The conditioner rinsed clean without leftover residue which allowed for easy management of my very long wet hair. Although I find this product to be true to its advertisement, I have to say that the same results that this OOKISA product offers, one could find at your local drugstore in the beauty isle with several brand name hair care products that coast much less. Like I said earlier, if you have the funds to purchase this product it is worth the money, but buyer beware.

When you visit the OOKISA website, they offer a free trial of all of these products. What they do not state up front is that they will send you a free sample for the coast of shipping and handling, but what they do not tell you is that they will then charge you 89.99 and start sending you the entire system every month unless you call within 14 dyas to cancel. If you order the free sample be sure to carefully read the terms and conditions section before you agree, because once you agree and put your information in they will start sending you the product every month and this can get quite costly.

I purchased the system minus the Nighttime Follicle Renewal Serum, I could not bring myself to purchase a hair product for 62.95 when I can get the same thing for about 6.00. All in all, I have to rate this product four out of five starts, it losses a star for the outrageous pricing, other than that it is a great product and will give you better looking hair. OOKISA hair care products can be found at just about any drugstore, but you will find a much cheaper price on-line at the website.
