Oops! of the Week Award

Chad Stiles
Welcome to Oops! of the Week. My new column here on Associated Press will focus on the most embarrassing, and sometimes funny, accident or incident of the past week. The column will be published every Monday on Associated Content.

I thought of making Britney Spears' opening performance at the MTV Video Music Awards my first Oops! of the Week (OOW), however, I figured everybody has read enough articles (including my own) about that incident. I have also found something that was a bit more interesting while reading my local newspaper.

In Union City, Georgia, A McDonald's employee spent a night in jail and is now facing criminal charges. The strange part, you ask? He was thrown in the slammer over a bad burger. Make sure you don't give that extra salty burger to Police Officer Wendell Adams, or your punishment may be getting arrested for reckless conduct and have a bail of $1,000, just like McDonald's employee Kendra Bull did.

Bull states that she accidentally spilled salt on hanburger meat and that her supervisor and co-worker tried to "thump" the meat to get the salt off. I'm going to hopefully assume that this meats tap the meat against the grill or sink in attempt to get the salt off.

Apparently, the "thumping" did not work, because Officer Adams received a burger made with the meat. A short time later, Adams returned and told the manager that the burger made him sick. I'm assuiming that this is when Bull was arrested, but the newspaper didn't make this clear. However, I will try to get an interview with Ms. Bull sometime this week, and post the content on Associated Content (and will be published with the Performance Bonus only option for your immediate enjoyment).

However, for now, Ms. Bull is receiving my first Oops! of the Week award. Congratulations, Kendra, and please, make my burger and fries "No Salt, Please."
