Opaa! Gyros Kit with Pocket Pita Bread is a Delicious Meal the Whole Family Will Enjoy
Enjoy the Flavor of Greece with Opaa! Gyros Kit
Preparation Is A Cinch
The Opaa! Gyros Kit contains enough ingredients for six sandwiches, so I have plenty to feed the whole family. The preparation is really simple - all I had to do was cook up each of the 18 or so slices of gyros meat in a frying pan - about 20 seconds for each pre-cooked slice to make sure they were hot enough to be safely eaten. I warmed the pita pocket bread in an oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees, but I could've done the same thing in the microwave in just 15 seconds.
The tzatziki sauce was already cold and ready to go. The only extra preparation came in heating the onions (raw onions are just a little too hot for me!), slicing the tomatoes, and getting the feta cheese sliced.
Other than that, the Gyros were ready to go within minutes -- and quickly enjoyed. I'm impressed not just by the quality but also the flavor of everything. The pocket pita bread is soft, the meat is tasty (a little greasy, but that's the nature of such meat anyhow), and the tzatziki sauce helps only more in making the meal taste fresh and delicious. I served French fries along with the meal, though you may have other ideas for ways in rounding out an gyros meal.
Overall, this Greek-inspired meal is absolutely one of the best dinner kits I've made -- period. The flavor and quality are superb. As it turns out, the Opaa! Gyros Kit is a product of Grecian Delight Foods, Inc. of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, so I'll be looking for some more of their Greek food, especially as I like certain Mediterranean meals but can't always take the time to fully prepare such food on my own.
Nutrition Information
The Opaa! Gyros Kit includes nutritional information for the pita pocket bread, gyros slices, and tzatziki sauce, so I won't be including below any of the nutritional data for the feta cheese, the tomatoes, or onions that I also included in my gyros sandwiches.
Take comfort in knowing that Opaa! Gyros Kit ingredients contain no trans fat. Plus, there are just 250 calories per prepared gyros sandwich. 140 calories are from fat. Overall there are 16 grams of total fat, 5 grams are saturated fat.
Sodium comes in at 620 milligrams (mg) and cholesterol at 25 mg. While there are 20 grams of carbohydrates and less than 1 gram of dietary fiber, there's just 1 gram of sugar per serving. There are also 9 grams of protein in each gyros sandwich serving.
The Opaa! Gyros Kit is one prepared meal package I'll definitely consider buying again. Everybody in the family loves it, it's only $6.99 at my local Central Florida Publix grocer, and the food is both high quality and delicious.
