Open Letter to Sarah Palin

Midterm Endorsements Were Not Enough

Arrhod Shade
Mrs. Palin,

Here it is, the wee hours of November 3, 2010, and I would like to invite you to run for President in 2012.

I would think that you would be ecstatic about Republican sweeps across the country in the mid term elections. I also believe that you would be heaping mounds of credit upon yourself for the mid term elections, even though you were not on the ballot. Personally, I believe you have been given entirely too much credit for any of it...but that's neither here nor there.

Several of the high profile candidates that you have endorsed for the 2010 elections have fallen on their face and learned the hard way that being so polarizing, ignorant of actual law and out of touch with most of America were not going to allow them to advance to public office. Your run with John McCain should have taught you that but it seems you still may have presidential aspirations, so I cordially invite you to public schooling.

I consider myself a moderate but I am an honorable one. I do not believe that misleading the public is ever acceptable, which makes people like me more acceptable to the mainstream that someone who attempts to scare the seniors in this country by telling them that the opposition wants to create "death panels" to kill off Grandma like you have insinuated.

People like your endorsees have made themselves out to be a laughing stock. Sharon Angle and Carly Fiorina have been beaten, according to all legitimate news medias, yet at 3:00 AM 11/03 have still refused to concede, Christine O'Donnell repeatedly had trouble with her knowledge of the First Amendment after repeatedly calling herself an expert on the Constitution. Meg Whitman has to wake up and realize that she has spent millions of dollars for nothing because she wasn't able to win, or buy, the Governor's office of California, all because she had an illegal as an employee for nine (9) years, supposedly didn't know her status and then kicked the woman to the curb once she found out and your friend Miller in Alaska is getting a run for his money by Murkowski (a write in candidate). There are more examples but these are the most noticeable.

The 2010 mid terms are less of a mandate for the Tea Party or the GOP than anyone may think. I may be willing to give the Obama administration a chance to fix the mess he walked into but I am also realistic in the knowledge that the mess that is America at present can not be fixed in less than two (2) years. I am also realistic enough to know that Obama did not win the 2008 election on his own merit...he was the lesser of two evils, so to speak. Given a choice of an educated black man who was a Constitutional lawyer or a woman with little clue of political issues and could see Russia from her back yard...well...the choice was very clear. Neither you, the Tea Party nor the GOP have any kind of mandate. Obama was elected partly to keep you out of the capital and that is the fact of the matter.

I can not see that a whole lot, if anything, will get done now, other than the GOP possibly shutting down the government because they still react as if America is privileged and should not have to sacrifice at all. The poor and elderly will suffer the most while defense spending with the bloated budget will continue to pay for things that are neither needed nor wanted. Corporate America will lobby to remove regulation to protect the public and environment and our government will come close to a standstill.

In this "fast food" nation of immediate gratification, I invite you to run for president in 2012 because you apparently need to learn something. You can whip up an extreme crowd and you can continue working to divide our nation by tearing it's people apart but you will NEVER be elected as President of the United States. You are simply NOT ELECTABLE no matter how much you may want it.

A "patriot" is someone who accepts the imperfections of our country but will gladly fight for the whole. A "patriot" would not willingly attempt to divide our country or disparage another citizen for having different views. False patriotism is easy to spot no matter how much a person tries to hide it.

Please run in 2012 so maybe you will learn your lesson and stop being so annoying. That Ivory tower will soon fall upon your defeat.

True democracy does not exist. The U.S. Constitution guarentees all American citizens certain rights that we all assume will prevail against all else but realistically do not. With the Supreme Courts ruling...  View profile

Janey, why do you have such a bigoted hatred of Christianity? And what makes you such an authority on morality. You come across as the perfect embodiment of what Plato mesnt when he said "The unexamined life is not worth living." Your greatest living philosopher, Peter Singer, tells us it is too bad that newborn babies are so cute because it will interefere with killing them.

I'm not sure that Palin can be considered completely out of touch with Americans. After all, there are a lot of dumb Americans out there.

Trish, I appreciate your view. I may not agree but we all have a right to an opinion. Most MAINSTREAM Americans would not try to force a woman to carry a baby from rape or incest...Angle and another TP candidate, Paladino, believe rape and incest are not good enough reason for abortion. O'Donnell is a fraud in the fact she is not a Constitutional expert as she repeatedly claimed, and as far as the WITCH crack..BS. A true witch does not believe in the Christian God, nor the Christian boogey-man...we do not have Satanic alters. Whatever she "dabbled" in was not withchcraft but showboating. People who deliberately divide our nation to further their own personal agendas have no business calling themselves a "patriot", nor do they deserve to be allowed to legislate to the masses. If you would not want an auto mechanic to do heart surgery on you, why would you think that the rest of us should be led by ignorance and a religious morality that is not moral...nor honest?

Oh my...sounds like another uninformed TP proponent. This article did not give Obama the same credit that a liberal would. It also is more realistic than what you call "mainstream"...which means you aren't as "mainstream as the author of this article. The fact is that Palin IS UNELECTABLE and none of the far right jibberish will change that.

Wow Janey, way to buy into every piece of liberal biased garbage you could get your hands on. The fact is, republicans were never going to win every open seat that was up for grabs. The fact they took the house and made significant gains in the Senate isn't at all diminished because a few high-profile republicans lost. Those were going to be tough seats for anyone to win. I respect the hell out of Fiorina, Whitman, Angle and O'Donnell for sticking with it and not giving in to the pressure of so-called "moderates" who are really just liberal-lites. A fact you seem unwilling to recognize is, what those candidates stood up for isn't out of the mainstream. They want a limited government, lower taxes and the restoration of the liberties being stripped away from us as citizens of this country.

You can trash talk them and Palin all you want, but that won't change what they and others have started.

I suggest that rather than writing uneducated and anger fueled garbage like this, yo
