The recent resignation of Mary Ann Neal left a vacancy on the Library Board. That vacancy has been filled by Darlene Johnson-Bignotti who is a former library trustee. Ms. Johnson-Bignotti will serve until November, 2011. After that, the seat will be placed on the ballot so that voters can decide who should complete Ms. Neal's term, which ends November 2013.
Ms. Neal was a trustee on the Ferndale Library Board for 18 years. Her resignation was effective November 1, 2010. In an interview, she spoke of how she witnessed the growth of the library as well as the changes that have occurred during her tenure. The President of the Library Board said Ms. Neal will be missed.
