I know what it's like to have family and friends overseas and fighting for our country. An empty seat sits at the dinner table while it should be occupied by a loving father, son, daughter, or mother. For the families of those serving this is a time of mixed emotions. While some are very proud of their family member, they are also burdened by that empty chair.
The loneliness that the soldier themselves feel at this time is tremendous. To be separated from your family is difficult enough, but more so at the holiday season then any other. I can only imagine what could be going on in their mind. The difficulties they see everyday, the worry they have on a daily basis, and the fear of death lingering around every corner.
Our soldiers need, no, deserve a pick me up at one of the hardest times of the year for them.
Operation Christmas Card is a chance to do something little that has a major impact on the spirits and morale of the troops. What I want to go over is some of the information that you may find helpful and necessary if you decide to help.
All the following information can be found at the official website of Operation Christmas Cards: www.facebook.com/operationchristmascards add them as a friend and see what you can do to help.
FAQ for Operation Christmas Cards:
Do the envelopes have to be addressed and stamped:
No they do not since the cards are mailed out in bulk as it cuts down on the shipping cost. The operation is all done with donations. You can write or draw on the envelopes if you'd like.
Do they have to have envelopes and do they need to be sealed:
Again, no they do not. They are mailed in bulk and so they do not need an envelope at all. If they do have an envelope, please do not seal it.

Post a CommentI am interested in knowing if there is a part of this group that works with bulk packaged devotional items, that I understand there is such a need for, for our Soldiers, that I can get information on for year round contributions.
